In the statement made by the US Treasury Department, it was stated that under the decree signed by US President Joe Biden, many sanctions were taken against Russia’s “aggressive and harmful” activities.
The statement noted that the sanctions included new bans on certain transactions related to Russia’s government debt, as well as sanctions against technology companies that support the Russian Intelligence Service’s efforts to commit malicious cyber acts against the United States.
In the Treasury Department’s statement, it was stated that after June 14, the participation of US financial institutions in the primary market for bonds issued by the Russian Central Bank, the Russian National Wealth Fund or the Russian Ministry of Finance will be generally banned.
In the statement, it was stated that the US financial institutions will be prevented from lending to these three institutions, so that the existing prohibitions on certain transactions in Russian state debt, which have been in effect since August 2019, will be expanded.
6 TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES IN THE SANCTION LIST
In the statement, it was noted that 6 technology companies supporting the cyber actions of the Russian Intelligence Service were also included in the sanction list.
