US media: Oil companies pay ransom

Colonial, the largest oil pipeline company in the US, allegedly paid a ransom of $ 5 million to hackers hours after the cyber attack.

According to reports in the US media, the company sent the ransom to hackers as crypto money. It was stated that the hackers sent a software to restore the disabled computer network after receiving the payment.

Following the attack, the pipeline, which carried more than 100 million gallons of fuel per day, ceased operations for about 1 week, and many states experienced fuel shortages. Long queues of vehicles had occurred at the petrol stations.
