Twitter announced that the company will recruit 11 people in Ghana for its first recruitment in the African continent and is considering opening an office there.
Social media company Twitter has joined Facebook and other tech companies that have moved to Africa.
Twitter stated that Ghana’s support for freedom of expression and freedom online preferred it for the company’s first location in Africa.
Twitter’s founder Jack Dorsey said, “Africa will determine the future,” after visiting Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia and South Africa in 2019.
Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo said it was great news that Twitter chose Ghana as the hub for its Africa operations.
Akufo-Addo stated that the government and the public welcomed this announcement and the trust in Ghana.
