News Train accident in Pakistan: 51 dead, 100 injured administrator 8 June 2021 At least 51 people were killed and 100 injured in a train crash in Pakistan’s Sindh province. In the state’s Gotki district, the passenger train carriage underway was dislodged and crashed into another passenger train coming from the opposite direction. 51 people lost their lives in the accident, 100 people were injured, 25 of them seriously. Many train services were disrupted due to the accident. Authorities stated that search and rescue efforts continue, and weather and road conditions make rescue activities difficult. The Pakistani army, which participated in the rescue efforts with 2 helicopters and many soldiers, set up an aid tent at the crash site. The two trains had an average of 900-1000 passengers. About 20 to 25 passengers are estimated to be stuck on the train. In the accident, a total of 11 wagons from both trains derailed. President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan shared a message of condolence on the accident on Twitter. Prime Minister Khan has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
