Toshiba Chairman, sacked

Investors in Japanese tech company Toshiba fired its chairman, Osamu Nagayama, today after it became clear that the company was collaborating with the government to suppress the interests of foreign investors.

Nagayama, 74, was recently accused of working with the Japanese Ministry of Commerce to prevent overseas shareholders from gaining influence over the board at Toshiba.

Investors see the vote as a promising sign of change.
