The waves of the giant tsunami created by the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs were seen for the first time in 66 million years


These waves, embedded in sediments observable in the state of Louisiana, were discovered by the University of Louisiana through seismic imaging.

Scientists have spent decades searching for evidence of this extinction-level event, including finding traces of the consequences of the asteroid’s impact on what is now Mexico’s Yucat√°n Peninsula.
