Iran, which has become the epicenter of the Corona virus epidemic in the Middle East, is struggling with the 5th wave. The number of cases is increasing day by day with the spread of the more contagious Delta variant in the country. The number of new cases per day has increased by 20 percent in the last 2 weeks.

The public blames the government for the worsening of the picture, on the grounds that its efforts to combat the epidemic are insufficient.

With the domestic vaccine developed in Iran, the adult population vaccination process has also been accelerated. It is aimed to provide collective immunity with the COVIran Blessing vaccine, which has been started to be applied in the last few weeks.

In particular, it is stated that the sanctions imposed by the USA make it difficult for Iran to purchase foreign vaccines and slow down the deliveries.

The capital, Tehran, and 91 cities were declared high-risk red zones. Travel restrictions were imposed between these cities. Non-essential businesses were closed.

In Iran, which has a population of 83 million, the number of people who died due to the virus so far has exceeded 84 thousand 600. This is the highest number recorded in the middle east.

More than 3 million cases have been detected since the beginning of the epidemic.
