According to the government’s statement, gunmen on motorcycles attacked the bus carrying those returning from the animal market established in the Banibangou location in the Tillaberi region yesterday.
According to the first determinations in the incident, 58 people died. Some local sources claimed that the death toll was 65.
It is stated that the terrorist organization DAESH, which has been operating in the region for a while, may have committed the attack that nobody has undertaken yet.
Located on the border between Mali and Burkina Faso, Tillaberi is often the target of terrorist organizations.
The state of emergency has been implemented in the region since 2017 due to the attacks.
