Thousands of protesters gather in Hyde Park at 12:00 local time (2:00 pm local time) and march to the Israeli Embassy. Demonstrators carrying banners saying “Terrorist Israel” and “End ethnic cleansing” shout slogans of freedom to Palestine. Demanding an end to the attacks, the end of the blockade of Gaza and the end of the occupation, the demonstrators want the government to cut its support for Israel. The show, in which Palestinian flags as well as Turkish flags are carried, is expected to continue until the evening hours. Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip allowed the Israeli police to withdraw from the Masjid Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Cerrah Quarter in occupied East Jerusalem until May 10, 6 p.m. local time. After the Israeli police did not withdraw from Masjid al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah, Palestinian resistance groups fired many rockets at Israel. Thereupon, the Israeli army launched a military operation called “Guardian of the Walls” against the Gaza Strip. Since May 10, 139 Palestinians, including 39 children, have lost their lives in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, and the number of injured has risen to 950.
