Statement from WHO: In how many countries was the Delta variant seen?


The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the Delta variant of the new type of corona virus (Covid-19), which was first seen in India, was encountered in about 100 countries and regions.

According to the news of the China Global Television Network (CGTN), WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the Delta variant, which was detected to be transmitted much more easily, was seen in at least 98 countries.

Stating that the variant spreads rapidly in countries with low and high vaccination rates, Ghebreyesus noted that the Delta variant is “dangerous” and continues to develop and mutate.
