State of Emergency in Egypt extended for the 17th time


The Egyptian Parliament approved once again the extension of the state of emergency (OHAL), which has been in place for more than 4 years across the country.

According to the news of the Egyptian official agency MENA, the state of emergency, which has been extended for the 17th time, will be in effect for 3 more months as of July 24.

In the bomb attacks carried out in the Egyptian cities of Alexandria and Tanta in April 2017 and claimed by the terrorist organization DAESH, 45 people lost their lives and 125 people were injured.

After the attacks, President Abdulfettah es-Sisi announced that a state of emergency was declared for 3 months.
