In the stampede that broke out at the funeral of former President John Magufuli, who died in Tanzania on March 17, 5 people died.

The ceremony, attended by tens of thousands of Tanzanians and broadcast live by televisions, was held at the Jamhuri Stadium in the capital city of Dodoma.

In the ceremony, which included high-level names and leaders from Kenya, Malawi, Comoros Union, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Republic of South Africa, Rwanda, Burundi, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, 5 people, 4 of whom were children, died.

Magufuli, who will be transported to different cities of the country for the national funeral during the week, is planned to be buried in the city of Chato, where he was born on Friday, 26 March.

The body of Magufuli, who was declared dead due to a heart disease, was circulated in the city of Dar es Salaam on March 20-21.
