Russia declares Italian diplomat ‘persona non grata’


In the statement made by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was reported that the Italian Ambassador to Moscow Pasquale Terracciano was invited to the Ministry and given a note.

It was noted that a military attaché working at the Italian Embassy in Moscow was declared an “persona non grata” and it was emphasized that the decision was taken due to unfounded and unfriendly actions by the Italian authorities against the military attaché at the Russian Embassy in Rome.

The Italian diplomat was asked to leave Russia within 24 hours.
