Touring the world by running, French Marie Leautey completed the European stage in Istanbul. Leautey aims to cross 4 continents and 23 countries within the scope of his world tour, where he will run a distance of over 23 thousand kilometers.
French runner Marie Leautey entered Turkey from Greece on 16 June as part of her world tour, which she started from Roca Cape in Portugal, the westernmost point of Europe, on 6 December 2019.
Leautey, 43, planning a world tour that will last for two years, ran the Avcılar-Fatih route in Istanbul on the 445th day of his adventure.
Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), also supported Marie Leautey. Renay Onur, General Manager of Spor Istanbul, accompanied Marie Leautey for 10 kilometers on the route that starts in Little Hagia Sophia and ends in Taksim.
Stating that Leautey has accomplished a very difficult job, Renay Onur invited the French runner to the N Kolay Istanbul Marathon to be held on November 7, 2021.

Marie Leautey’s track that started in Little Hagia Sophia ended at the French Palace. Olivier Gauvin, Consul General of France in Istanbul, welcomed Leautey and gave flowers to his citizen.
