Research: Pfizer and Moderna vaccines 90 percent effective after second dose

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the research on the protective effect of American vaccines developed for the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak has been completed and the vaccines are “almost as powerful as in test studies”.

In the report on the CDC’s website, it was stated that the first official research on the results of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines developed by American pharmaceutical companies against Covid-19 was completed, and both vaccines were 90 percent effective after the second dose.

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said, “These findings should offer hope to millions of Americans who have the Covid-19 vaccine every day and those who will have the opportunity to get vaccinated in the coming weeks.”

“This is very reassuring news. We have vaccines that work very well,” said Mark Thompson, lead author of the CDC report. He emphasized that this research was “the first assessment made by the government on how vaccines work” after drug manufacturers.

Thompson stated that it was gratifying that the protection rate they determined was very close to the 95 percent rate achieved by companies.

In the report, it was noted that there were no deaths as a result of vaccination, and only 2 patients were hospitalized due to side effects.

He was vaccinated at the age of 104
