According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, Turkey-Israel relations and regional issues were discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan congratulated Yitzak Hertzog on his inauguration.
Emphasizing that Turkey-Israel relations are of great importance for the security and stability of the Middle East, President Erdoğan stated that there is a high potential for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in energy, tourism and technology.
President Erdoğan stated that bilateral trade has increased despite the epidemic and that it is in the common interest to benefit from this potential.
Expressing that he attaches importance to the continuation of contact and dialogue despite all differences of opinion, President Erdoğan stated that the international community expects a permanent and comprehensive two-state settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict within the framework of UN resolutions.
President Erdoğan stated that positive steps to be taken in the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will also contribute to the positive course of Turkey-Israel relations.
