Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas gets Covid-19 vaccine

While vaccination campaigns continue worldwide as part of the fight against Covid-19, vaccination has started in Palestine.

On March 17, the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine was administered to President Mahmud Abbas in Palestine, who received the first vaccine delivery from the Global Access Program for Covid-19 Vaccines (COVAX) led by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Mahmoud Abbas urged the Palestinian people to continue to comply with public safety protocols and vaccination instructions from the Palestinian Ministry of Health to go through this difficult period.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the vaccination campaign was launched earlier today, and announced that healthcare personnel, cancer and kidney failure patients and the elderly over 75 years of age will be given priority.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was stated that 38 thousand doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine were supplied in addition to 24 thousand AstraZeneca vaccines as part of the COVAX shipment.
