New finding on ‘dark matter’

Scientists have created the largest and most comprehensive dark matter map using artificial intelligence technologies.

According to the news in New Scientist magazine, Dark Energy Survey, which conducts astronomical research, analyzed images of 100 million galaxies using artificial intelligence technologies.

The researchers created the most detailed and largest map showing the distribution of dark matter in the universe with data obtained from galaxies.

Scientists have observed that dark matter particles, which are not visible because they do not refract or reflect light, and whose effects on other substances can only be detected by the effect of gravity, are more uniform and dispersed throughout the universe.

IT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE MYSTERY OF THE UNIVERSE

Scientists stated that the study will contribute to understanding how the universe formed and evolved.

The researchers used the Victor M Blanco telescope in Chile.

ALWAYS THE SUBJECT OF DISCUSSION

About 84 percent of the total amount of matter in the universe is thought to be dark matter. The nature of the particles that make up dark matter is still a matter of debate today. Many research groups are working to identify dark matter particles.

NOT VISIBLE

Dark matter is a type of matter put forward to explain observations in cosmology and astronomy. Dark matter particles cannot be observed directly because they do not interact with light, but their existence can be understood thanks to the effects they cause in their surroundings.

The results of the research were published in the British Royal Astronomical Society publication “Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society”.
