On the other hand, MIT produced predictions about the world’s population until 2060 using a computer program called “World1” in 1972. In a video featuring the findings from 1972, World1 developer Jerry Foster explained his innovation to the world and used the work of MIT to do it.

Foster’s findings included quality of life, which rose sharply until the 1940s and then rebounded until 2020, when it declined. However, the model also identified 2020 as a tipping point for civilization.
