Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel was hospitalized due to the new type of corona virus (Covid-19).
It was announced that Bettel, who tested positive for Covid-19 last week, was hospitalized as a precaution and will be kept under observation for 24 hours.
The Luxembourg State Ministry announced that some tests will be carried out on the condition of 48-year-old Bettel, and according to the doctors’ decision, it will be decided whether the Prime Minister will stay in the hospital.
It was announced on June 27 that Bettel caught Covid-19, and it was reported that she showed signs of illness such as fever and headache. The Prime Minister of Luxembourg attended the EU Leaders’ Summit on 24-25 June, although it was noted that he was not in close contact with other leaders.
Bettel was given the first dose of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine on May 6, and it was stated that she had an appointment for the second dose on July 1 before she fell ill.
