Fugitive Marc Feren Claude Biart, a member of “Ndrangheta”, one of Italy’s most dangerous criminal organizations, was identified from the food videos he shot and shared on the Internet in the Dominican Republic, where he was caught and brought to his country.
According to reports in the Italian press, 53-year-old Biart, a member of Ndrangheta, who has been wanted since 2014, caught his passion for Italian food.
As a result of the cooperation of Italian security forces, Interpol and Dominican local authorities, Biart, who was diagnosed with tattoos, was detained in Boca Chica on 24 March, although he did not show his face in the food videos he shared on the internet.
Marc Feren Claude Biart was returned to his country today and brought to Milan with the security forces.
Biart has had an arrest warrant since 2014, on the charge of drug trafficking.
On the other hand, Italian security forces identified another prominent and wanted name of Ndrangheta, 43-year-old Francesco Pelle, in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, and caught him in the hospital where he was treated for a new type of corona virus (Covid-19).
Ndrangheta, the dominant criminal organization in the Calabria region in Italy, has become Italy’s strongest and richest mafia over the years thanks to the control of the European drug trade.
