In the US state of Texas, all restrictions, including the mandatory mask against Covid-19, were lifted.

After Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced last week that all Covid-19 measures against “economic devastation” would be lifted and the state would “open one hundred percent”, all restrictions ended today.

In Texas, the second state with the highest number of cases after California, the removal of the measures caused concern among healthcare professionals.

It is also noteworthy that the vaccination rate in the state with the majority of the Republicans is lower than other states in the country.

According to Johns Hopkins University records, where Covid-19 data were compiled, more than 29 million people have been detected in the USA so far, while more than 527 thousand people have died due to the virus.
