While sea saliva is being fought in the Marmara and Aegean Sea these days, news of the ‘duckweed’ invasion are coming from South America. Duck lentils carpeted the surface of Titicaca, the largest lake in South America, between Peru and Bolivia. While the fishermen were trying to set up barricades with nets in order to block its way, the scoops pulled out tons of duckweed from the lake. Environmental volunteers asked the authorities for help against duckweeds that damage the ecosystem by causing fish deaths.
