Germany lowers risk level from ‘very high’ to ‘high’

The risk level in the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic in Germany has been reduced from “very high” to “high” with the decline of new cases.

German Minister of Health Jens Spahn said at a press conference in Berlin with Robert Koch Institute (RKI) President Lothar Wieler that the risk level was lowered due to the decrease in the number of cases and the relief of the situation in the intensive care units of hospitals.

Expressing that the situation in the country has improved in the Covid-19 epidemic, Spahn warned, “However, we are still in the middle of the pandemic.”

Spahn stated that the assessment of reducing the risk level is a sign of the breaking of the difficult second and third waves in the epidemic, but noted that the situation can change and worsen very quickly if people are not careful.

Touching on the emergence of irregularities in some centers where rapid tests for the detection of Covid-19 are carried out free of charge, Spahn used the expression “Fraud is rudeness”.

Expressing that most of those who run test centers are honest, Spahn noted that these centers will be better audited in the future.

In Germany, 1785 more people were diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. Thus, the total number of cases increased to 3 million 682 thousand 911.

With the death of 153 people due to the virus in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths increased to 88 thousand 595.
