Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov held a press conference after their meeting today.
Speaking at the meeting, Çavuşoğlu said, “We aim to return to the old figures in tourism,” and besides bilateral relations, there are regional issues we are working with with Russia. We discussed Syria, Libya, Afghanistan and Karabakh issues,” he said.
Sergey Lavrov said, “Our citizens see Antalya as an attractive destination. We will continue to work for the continuation of this tourism in the future.”
Çavuşoğlu said, “Our aim is to ensure stability and peace in these regions. We will continue to work for the continuation of peace in Syria,” said his counterpart, Lavrov, adding, “We appreciate the activities of the joint command center in Azerbaijan.”
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said, “Our citizens see Antalya as an attractive destination. We will continue to work for the continuation of this tourism in the future.”
CHANNEL ISTANBUL EXPLANATION
While Minister of Foreign Affairs Çavuşoğlu said, “Canal Istanbul has no effect on the Montreux Agreement, nor the Montreux Agreement has any effect on Kanal Istanbul,” Lavrov said, “The construction of the Istanbul Canal, in any way, will not pave the way for the military units of foreign countries to be there.”
IS THE PCR TEST PERFORMED TO TOURISTS FROM RUSSIA?
Speaking about the tourists coming to Turkey, Çavuşoğlu said, “We do not want PCR tests from tourists who have received two doses of vaccine for tourists from Russia. We want those who do not have two doses of vaccine.”
“We conveyed our proposal to Russia on mutual recognition of our vaccine certifications,” Çavuşoğlu said.
LATEST SITUATION IN SYRIA AND LIBYA
Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said, “Syria must clean up the organizations that pose a threat,” and said, “Libya’s political unity, as well as its territorial integrity, is a priority that we all agree on.”
Lavrov said, “The Libyans should be the host of their own country.”
