Scientists have estimated that 2.5 billion T-rex dinosaur species lived in the world for 2 million years.
The University of California has published a study on how many dinosaurs might have lived in 127,000 generations by making calculations based on body size, sexual maturity and energy needs of dinosaurs.
As a result of the research, it was estimated that 2.5 billion T-rex type dinosaurs may have lived in the world for 2 million years.
The study noted that these dinosaur species lived in North America for 1.2 million to 3.6 million years.
Charles Marshall, Director of the University of California Paleontology Museum, stated that there are 100 T-rex dinosaur fossils and 32 of these fossils belong to male dinosaurs, “If 2.5 million dinosaurs lived instead of 2.5 billion, we would probably never know that dinosaurs existed.”
It was also stated in the study that it was estimated that T-rex type dinosaurs reached sexual maturity within 14 to 17 years and lived 28 years.
