Death toll rises to 12 in floods in Belgium

It was reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the floods in Belgium increased to 12 and 5 people disappeared.

Local authorities announced that 12 people lost their lives in the floods in these cities and the surrounding villages.
It was stated that at least 5 people disappeared in the region and search and rescue teams continue their work.
Dozens of houses collapsed in the region due to floods, thousands of homes and businesses were flooded. A large number of passenger vehicles were dragged away by the flood waters.
In some neighborhoods of Liege, one of the cities most affected by the flood, people were called to leave their homes. Concerned that the Meuse River flowing through the city might overflow, residents of some districts, especially the city center, were asked to go to higher areas or go to the upper floors of buildings.
Many roads in the east of the country were closed, and road and railway transportation were disrupted.
