In Peru, the number of people who lost their lives from the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) was updated as 180 thousand 764 after the examination and analysis.

In the report submitted to the head of state by the working group of scientists, who were assigned to determine the number of people who lost their lives from Covid-19 in the country, it was stated that the number of deaths due to the epidemic was 3 times more than the announced.

In line with the report, with the addition of 111 thousand 422 people, the number of people who lost their lives from Kovid-19 in the country was recorded as 180 thousand 764.

In his statement on the subject, Health Minister Oscar Ugarte stated that some deaths, which numbered thousands, were not included in the scope of the virus, “Previously, only those who tested positive were recorded to die from Covid-19,” he said.

Thus, Peru became the third country with the most deaths from Covid-19 among Latin American countries, after Brazil and Mexico.

In the latest statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was stated that the number of people who died due to Covid-19 was 69 thousand 342, and the number of those infected with the virus was 1 million 955 thousand 469.
