Controlled crossings between districts in the TRNC are being removed from April 5

Saner announced the decisions taken at the Council of Ministers meeting.

Stating that the curfew will continue for another week in line with the decisions of the Council of Ministers, Saner said that between April 5-12, a curfew will be applied from 22.00 to 05.00.

Stating that the opening hours of the markets were taken one hour earlier, Saner stated that the markets will be open between 07.00-21.00 on Mondays and Saturdays.

Saner stated that it was decided to abolish the controlled transition practice between districts as of Monday.


With the detection of 42 new types of Corona virus (Covid-19) cases in the last 24 hours in the TRNC, the number of cases increased to 4 thousand 486.

According to the written statement made by the TRNC Ministry of Health, 6 thousand 623 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, 31 of them were local 42 positive cases. 28 people whose treatment was completed were also discharged.

In the TRNC, whose population is around 385 thousand, 26 people have died due to the virus so far, while the total number of cases has increased to 4 thousand 486.


In the Greek part of Southern Cyprus, 59 thousand 144 Covid-19 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, 705 new cases were seen.

In the statement made by the Greek Ministry of Health, it was stated that the number of cases increased to 46 thousand 878.

In the Greek part, which has a population of around 900 thousand, 261 people have died so far due to the virus.
