Clean water shortage in Nigeria: more than 60 million people at risk of disease

According to the data published by the Nigerian Ministry of Water Resources, millions of people in the country still cannot access water that can be considered safe for human health.

It has been noted that more than 60 million people in the country are at risk of water-borne disease.

Water Resources Minister Suleiman Hussein Adamu said in a statement that hundreds of children under the age of 5 die every year in the country from diseases such as cholera.

Pointing out that this situation is alarming, Adamu stressed that the duty of providing clean water to the public continues to be a responsibility of the government.
