About 100 civilians were killed in an armed attack on a village in the West African country of Burkina Faso.
Armed attackers attacked Solhan village in northern Burkina Faso at night, setting fire to houses and markets in the village.
It was announced that nearly 100 civilians lost their lives in the incident. The government described the attackers as “terrorists”.
Burkina Faso has been the scene of terrorist attacks since 2015, when the military seized power.
Thousands of people had to migrate to safe areas due to attacks targeting civilians and soldiers. In some areas, a state of emergency was declared.
