55 thousand doses of loan AstraZeneca vaccine from Denmark to Germany

Denmark announced that AstraZeneca will “lend” the new type of corona virus (Covid-19) vaccine to the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, where the minority Danes also live.

In the press release made by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that it was decided to “lend” 55 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to this state upon the request from Schleswig-Holstein State Prime Minister Daniel Günther.

It was previously announced that Denmark has approximately 270 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. It was noted that, except for the 55 thousand doses to be loaned to Germany, the remaining vaccines have not been decided yet.

Danish authorities announced on April 14 that AstraZeneca had removed the Covid-19 vaccination program due to the link between the vaccine and blood clotting.
